The shooting season ends on 31st January & we can no longer shoot game. All of our friends are a little sad that the end has come so quickly but we can look back at some special days out hunting [:(]. Of course there is always next season to look forward to.
I finished my season yesterday, we shot 113 pheasant, 3 Woodcock & 2 Jay over the two days with 5 guns, the bag was much better than we had anticipated as birds were becoming thin on the ground. Of course the dogs were great & made me very proud [:D].
    Andremo a caccia di uno,

'til vita, dice,' il gioco è fatto '!

2 days, 5 guns.... maybe during drives or "rescuing" what was left after drives[;)]

I don't know... maybe they went rough shooting with a bracco after a drive, in this case it's not impossible to find several "left overs" [:D]

Why being amazed by those 113 pheasants? UK is full of them. And I also remember, during my PhD time around Oxford (Tackley) and Buckinghamshire, the country was so rich in wild pigeons!

ok for the wild pigeons but the pheasants are usually owned by large estates which rear and feed them until they are released (usually for expensive or - private - drives).
