Identificazione dello strozzatore

Salve amici

Sono un orgoglioso proprietario di un RFM SK One, ma ho un problema.
Uno degli strozzatori si è arrugginito nella canna, probabilmente lo tirerò fuori ma non senza rovinarlo.

Quindi la domanda è se qualcuno di voi sa che tipo di sistema di strozzamento utilizza RFM.
Il fucile è stato prodotto nel dicembre 2018.

Ho provato a contattare RFM più volte, ma nessuna risposta.

Adoro davvero il fucile e vorrei continuare a usarlo

Buongiorno, ma non hai la sua chiave? Credo e spero di sì, se lo strozzatore si è bloccato prova così:
Metti la canna parte volata a bagno in gasolio e lo lasci una settimana, dopo sul fornello di casa scaldi la parte finale( scaldi vuol dire che la tieni a 20-25 cm dalla fiamma e alterni momenti sulla fiamma e momenti fuori fiamma) senza esagerare per non rovinare ne la brunitura ne la consistenza del metallo e via via provi a svitarlo con la sua chiave, è un lavoro un po particolare che richiede esperienza però con una buona manualità è fattibile basta provare, ricordati sempre di mettere del grasso sul filetto dello strozzatore per evitare proprio questi bloccaggi.
Rfm è strano che non ti hanno risposto,sono gente seria....

Yes i have the key , or had really.
the choke got so stuck that the key broke.
i soaked the barrelend in diesel and heated it but its really rusted in there,
the gun has been sitting whitout cleaning since a year ago, when i had an accident and broke my neck.
now i wanted to clean the gun and try it out at the range i could not remove it :(

ciao, credo che per questo fucile la RFM abbia realizzato degli strozzatori direttamente loro, non penso siano di serie, prova a telefonare in ditta e chiedere se producono ancora questi strozzatori

Hello , that is one part of the problem , i dont speak italian :(
i reached out to RFM about 1,5 years ago asking for new choketubes.

if you speak english, i think they have some people that speak it or, as other people in the forum say, you need find a gunsmith in Sweden that make you an other choke for your shootgun. i don't know if there is someone in this forum who know the owner of RFM o someone who work there, but if there is, we can ask him about this problem with your choke

Credo che a questo punto ci vuole un armaiolo ,e pure bravo anche perchè probabilmente deve cecare di recuperare o rifare la filettatura interna.Per un nuovo strozzatore prova con la Gemini.

I have called RFM, the answer is:
If it is stuked, after one year, you have no chance to take it out on your own (without damaging the barrell).
If you send or take the gun to them, they are sure the can remove it and clean the barrell with the appropriate tools.
Secon option: take the gun to a skilled gun smith close to you.

Do you have any mailadress so i can get hold of RFM, they do not respond at the info adress.
maybe it will not be so expensive sending it down to italy for a remake.

Martin, you can call them at 0039 (italy) plus 030 800442 they are very polite and accurate and they can handle a reasonable conversation in English (speaking clearly and on arms topics)

Sending your gun to them could be somehow expensive, but it is doable, most of the effort is likely to stay on the bureaucratic authorizations you need to get.

Max54, sul sito della Gemini hanno gli strozzatori mobilchoke RFM da 51mm come Beretta/Benelli e quelli a parete sottile da 70mm, ma questo è differente, essendo la filettatura non in volata, secondo me è uno strozzatore artigianale, fatto direttamente in RFM, che dovrebbe essere da 45mm interno e 7mm esterno

@quiet, i will send a copy of my mail to rfm to you, and yes the best option is to smuggle the barrels in the trunk to italy, swedish gunlaws are so stupid.
lots of permits across all eu borders :(

Martin I would advice you to check that RFM can take and work the barrell, I guess they have to register whatever arm (or part of it) they have in their facilities and I don't know to what extent they can be flexible :-)
I wouldn't bet Italian gun laws are less stupid than the Swidish one.

Martin, I put "Seized choke removal" in the research driver. Here are a few answers

SEIZED CHOKE REMOVAL – FROM THE NET
1. Remove barrel from the shotgun then stand it up in a container of diesel fuel with the choke fully submerged for a couple of days. Tap the choke and barrel with a wooden mallet the try to remove the choke. If still stuck, repeat.

2. Soak the end of the barrel with either Kroil oil , PB Blaster , or a mix of wd-40 and Automatic Transmission fluid . I would let it soak a day . Next , you need to freeze the barrel in a freezer. Get everything ready to hold the barrel and remove the choke, remove the barrel from the freezer, carefully clamp it in a padded vise and quickly heat the outside of the barrel end where the choke is for just a second with a propane torch or heat gun on high and unscrew the choke.
Clean the threads well and next time use a good lube or anti-seize lightly on the threads…

3. A trick that a gunsmith friend showed me is to soak in oil then mount the choke wrench in a vise. Then turn the entire gun to loosen the stuck choke tube. The additional leverage often breaks the tubes free quickly. people often brought guns with stuck tubes into the Gun Library - either to trade or just for our help. This trick often succeeded, though not always.

4. Had a used semi shipped to me with a seized choke in it..uurrrggg.. So I went and bought a wine stopper from the Dollar store.. Plugged the end of the barrel with it. Filled up the bottom of the barrel with creeping oil. Seafoam in my case. Took a heat gun to it a couple days later and it twisted right out with little effort. When I got mine out, I found it was rusted in there for some time.

5. IMO corking the barrel is better than immersing the barrel in solvent. I let an 1100 Rem. barrel soak immersed in PB Blaster for a couple of days, and it permanently discolored the end of the barrel. Not too noticeable but still annoying to me

I placed the barrels in diesel for a few days, he used some special tool from Deamontools to get the choke out.

I cleaned the threads in the barrel with a brass brush, lubed up and put in another choke

But the old choke is done for, the gunsmith could not help me indentifying the choke brand

im going to mail RFM when im getting home today ,and see if they can help me.

I have called RFM this morning.
For sure they have new cockes to provide you with.
If you send them a pic, they will tell you exactly the model, she has told me it is important (obviously) to check the thread.
they should also be able to let you know what you could buy from them plus if and what you can buy in Sweden as aftermarket.
